Location of Founders Bed and Breakfast is off State Highway 1, at 253 Taupahi Road, Turangi.

Turangi is half way between Auckland and Wellington. Located on the southern side of Lake Taupo.

We are only a 40 minute drive to Mount Ruapehu ski fields (a cool 1800 hectares) of skiing fun.

Its just a short stroll from the best rainbow trout fishing pools on the Tongariro River.

Founders Bed and Breakfast is located at the marked location.

The Tongariro National Park is one of the internationally recognised areas which provides for the protection of places that are of outstanding universal value or WORLD HERITAGE SITES.

Tongariro National Park is one of a very few places in the world to be listed as a world heritage site for both natural and cultural significance. It has been registered in the 1990s because of its outstanding volcanic features, and later as a cultural landscape of great importance to the Ngāti Tūwharetoa tribe.
